Can I Install Custom Wraps On Any Surface?Custom wraps are easiest to install on smooth, flat, nonporous surfaces, but our specialists have the equipment and expertise to work with concave surfaces (recesses), convex surfaces (compound curves), and riveted surfaces, too. We usually avoid wrapping grained or textured surfaces (e.g. parts of mirrors or body trim), as well as any unpainted surfaces like trim and bumpers, as it can be difficult to achieve proper adhesion. We do not recommend wrapping any rusted parts of your vehicle to prevent further damage during removal. In terms of materials, custom wraps adhere particularly well to PVC, steel, aluminum, glass, and melamine. Some plastics used in vehicle manufacturing, such as polypropylene and polyethylene, can be difficult to wrap, but this should be determined on a case-by-case basis. To determine whether or not your vehicle’s surface is suitable, please get in touch with our team and ask about conducting a preliminary substrate vinyl adhesion test.
